Choice.exe for Windows NT/2000/Server 2003/XP
Note: Vista/Server 2008/7 etc.. includes a choice command from the command prompt.
The command waits for the user to choose one of a set of choices.
If the user presses a key that is not among the keys you assigned, Choice sounds a warning beep.
CHOICE [/C[:]choices] [/N] [/S] [/T[:]c,nn] [text]
Specifies allowable keys. Default is YN
/N Do not display choices and ? at end of prompt string.
/S Treat choice keys as case sensitive.
/T[:]c,nn Default choice to c after nn seconds.
text Prompt string to display
ERRORLEVEL is set to offset of key user presses in choices. This command comes in handy in a batch file when user input is needed to make a selection for doing or installing something. You can click here to download choice along with other Window/MS dos add-ons.
